Rohan Roy is an Indian fusion violinist who has performed with a diverse range of celebrated musicians, from Indian rock bands to Bollywood singers and classical fusion ensembles with Indian classical maestros such as Pt. Tanmoy Bose or Kaushiki Chakraborty. He has also contributed to the soundtracks of over 50 Indian movies. He has worked as a composer for BBC Arts and has successfully produced content for Moonbug Entertainment, RD Content, and Smilehood, contributing to renowned brands such as Cocomelon, Blippi, and Plim Plim.
Alongside his career in performance and composition, he teaches students at Havering Music School, Normanhurst School, and Oaklands School. As part of his PhD from the University of Bristol, he is developing a notational system that facilitates improvisation through Indian classical ornaments and techniques.
While based in the UK, he is currently deeply immersed in the vibrant world of Indian fusion music. He passionately explores the blend of traditional Indian sounds with contemporary genres and shares his unique improvisational techniques with budding fusion artists and music enthusiasts alike.
